I help couples open up!

Both emotionally and structurally!

I offer intensives for those in relationships wanting to take a deep dive into relational issues with their partner(s), but have busy lives and a hard time blocking off a weekly session together. These intensives begin with an hour long video session where we can focus in on what you need out of your intensive. Intensives are a mix of couples talk therapy, therapist-led exercises, and psychoeducation depending on what you need from our time together!

I also specialize in workshops for groups and focused intensives for couples curious about, new to and wanting to explore ethical non-monogamy!

My ethical non-monogamy (ENM) workshop is for folks interested in exploration of a new idea. Shifting from monogamy into a more open structure is a hard space to navigate in a culture that can shame people who want to move differently in relationships. If you are looking for a safe and authentic place to explore ideas and ask questions of yourselves and each other, or you want guidance in navigating particular challenges around non-monogamy, I’m here to help! The goal is not to be non-monogamous or “succeed” at having a certain type of relationship. Instead, we are here to open ourselves to endless possibilities and creating relationships that work FOR YOU!

In addition, I provide consulting on an hourly basis for therapists wanting to work with ENM or polyamorous people. I offer trainings throughout the year (posted here) and am available for speaking engagements.

 FAQs

  • Intensives are custom- built full-day therapeutic sessions that combine talk therapy, therapist-led exercises (writing/somatic/etc) and psychoeducation. Intensives are great for couples who want to learn more about how to navigate ethical non-monogamy or focus on another specific issue. Perhaps there has been a major disruption such as infidelity in your relationship and you are motivated to spend the time working on it together. Intensives also work well for couples who just can’t find the time for weekly sessions. Have you done couples work before and found you were just scratching the surface of a deeper issue? Do you want to gain more traction in a shorter period of time? Intensives might be a great option!

  • Intensives are offered on some Saturdays throughout the year and take place at my office in Larchmont. I do not offer online intensives at this time. My typical intensive is 5 hours long (with 1 hour of breaks built in). Included in the intensive is an hour intake session where I get to know you. This initial session allows me to build your custom intensive based on your needs.

  • I’m very honest with my clients about who is right for an intensive. Intensives are for couples willing and ready to do the deep and difficult work of a day long experience. I encourage high conflict couples and those who struggle with emotional regulation to consider weekly sessions. I use my initial intake to assess for readiness and if I feel an intensive might be too… well, intense… than I will recommend weekly sessions. The intake session will be billed at my regular session rate.

  • Intensives are custom experiences and thus are priced differently than weekly therapy. My intensives which include one intake session are priced at $1600.

  • No two intensives are the same but they each include:

    • One hour intake session to help us customize your intensive

    • Saturday session (5 hours)

    • Resource materials

Some of the topics I've touched on with previous couples (depending on the consultation and what is needed)

    • Exploring personal ideas and values around ethical non-monogamy

    • Benefits and challenges of Ethical Non-monogamy

    • Navigating talking to friends and family

    • Addressing stigma with others

    • Types and ways of exploring

    • Self-soothing, managing triggers

    • Communicating through difficult conversations

    • Agreement making

    • Dealing with jealousy and insecurity

    • How we have learned and how we unlearn monogamy as the default

    • Desires, values and goals.

    • Resources and questions

Recognize that unlearning is the highest form of learning.
